Voltaire famously said that wine is the divine fruit of September, and we couldn’t agree with him more. From September 13-14, you can pay homage to Voltaire by enjoying the food, wine, and festivities of the Snowmass Wine Festival. Here’s just a little bit of what you can expect.
On Friday, September 13, the festival opens with “Oregon Meets California” at the Viceroy Snowmass. This is sure to be an evening like no other. You’ll be treated to a gourmet, four-course dinner with featured wines from California’s amazing Alexander Valley Vineyards and Oregon’s renowned Left Coast Cellars. This popular event fills up quickly, so make sure you’re included in the fun: buy your individual or group tickets early, and get ready for one of the best food and wine events of the season.
On Saturday, September 14, be prepared for even more palate-pleasing events at the Grand Tasting at Town Park. Not only will there be a huge array of both local and international wines—over 300 different vintners, to be exact—but you’ll also find a huge selection of cuisines from the best restaurants in the area. That means you can enjoy yourself almost any way you want: sip on a glass Colorado’s own of Two Rivers Merlot while you sample the offerings from Big Hoss Grill, or taste the best of the Artisan’s award-winning cuisine and top it off with a glass of Moet and Chandon. The possibilities are endless. And with music by the Bo Hale Band, the event is sure to be hopping.
Great food and wine aren’t the only things happening at the Snowmass Wine Festival. When you’ve got some downtime during the Grand Tasting, take time to visit the silent auction from 2 to 4 PM. Auction items include everything from famous wines and one of a kind artwork to trips around the world. You never know what you might take home!
Just when the Snowmass Wine Festival has you thinking that life can’t get any better, take a look up in the sky, where you’ll see vibrant colors peacefully floating amongst the majestic Colorado scenery. The Snowmass Wine Festival takes place the same weekend as the 38th Annual Snowmass Balloon Festival. While you’re enjoying great food and wine down on the ground, some of the world’s most beautiful hot air balloons will be decorating the sky above. You won’t want to miss the balloons in group flight over the Snowmass Valley, and the official hot air balloon races are quite a sight to see. Don’t forget to check out the balloons touching down on the ponds at the Snowmass Golf Club, and watch at dusk as the balloons illuminate and glow against the evening sky.
To enjoy the best of the Wine Festival and the Balloon Festival, we recommend that visitors make a weekend out of it and stay in Snowmass. There’s simply nothing like hot air balloons floating in the sky above you as you enjoy great food and amazing wine down on the ground. Voltaire would be proud. Book Your Weekend Now!
